Epiphany

This song went through quite a few iterations. It originally started as "Searching." I wanted to write a song about searching for more out of life, and I did; but this started with different music. it wasn't until I'd written the music and started the lyric writing process that I stumbled upon the "I want more outta life" hook. It may have been randomly in the car one morning or afternoon. The hook was just so perfect, but it didn't mesh with the music I'd written. So I wrote completely new music, crafting it around the hook. I worked my way backwards to a pre-chorus, verse, bridge, and intro. And then the lyrics, which went through quite a few iterations of their own. I finally settled on something that I hope conveys desire, but also melancholy.
